I've yet to see the games you have, but i hope to find my favorites such as Gateway, Archon, Summer/Winter/World Games, Tapper, FistIII, Way of the Iron Fist, Super Pipeline, and a bunch of other classics. C64 ruled, and its sad that so many ppl didn't realize that. My opinion, better than the Dreamcast.

Nostalgia! From the comments, it looks like everyone started out on the C64. My daughters were introduced to computers on one and are now in college. Still nagging me to find a C64 and get Up and Down (a little racing game they loved). Looking for a source of C64s, drives and monitors.

This is a lovely page that brought back a lot of memories. My earliest contact with the amazing wonderbox that we now know as the computer started on a C64. Games like Rambo II and Epyx Championship Wrestling will live forever in my head. Once again, lovely site.

Back then I had a Program Called SKY TRAVEL which was Great as a STAR OBSERVATORY PROGRAM... it could tell you how the sky looked in any particular year or place. Just downloaded an emulator for the commodore 64 and felt a great rush of nostalgae as that flashing prompt on a 40 column screen came up. I remember the c64 as my first computer sure it wasn't as fancy as those snobby kids Apples and PC's but it was MINE and I busted as to earn enough money on a paper route to buy it. Besides with all those self reliant types out there using it, the C64 had all the good software. I still remember the motto "The computer for the rest of us" very fondly.

...oh,you probably all know this but the cool Rob Hubbard is now writting music for PSX amongst others but has yet to repeat his work such as Commando...well,so I think.

You've forgotten one of the greatest c64-games ever: "PROJECT FIRESTART". I think the c64 was the best computer on the world. only think about games like ARCHON; BRUCE LEE; BUBBLE BOBBLE; MANIAC MANSION; LAST NINJA; INTERNATIONAL KARATE and so on.. it was great I've seen one of my oldest games for my datasette like HUNCHBACK or UGH or SUPER PIPELINE.. that was really great. and the SDI-Files, too. you're website is really fantastic.

Glad to see SSI is still around. I was first introduced to SSI in the mid '80s with my first D&D game The Pool of Radiance. I played that on a Commodore 64. Amazingly, not only is the computer still in use, but so are the games. It passed from me to my older brother, to his sister, to their mother, and now is being used by his little brother. We all learned our first computer skills on the same C64, and I can't wait to get it back. Even my own parents have been trying to find those D&D games for this new IBM. They kept their kids off the streets, out of the bars, and away from many of the dangers that we could have encountered. Even after I, the youngest, left home, they new where my brother and I were at 2:00 AM, and they could sleep without worry. Thanks SSI for the years of entertainment.......

Ah, it all brings a tear to the eye. Almost. Great site, full of old memories most of which remind me that a three channel sound chip in an 8-Bit machine was more capable of creating better sounds and better tunes than any of the dross churned out today on alleged "next generation" computers/consoles. The youth of today don't know what they missed out on ;)

It is great to know that someone still loves to remember the great games made for the Commodore64. As long as I remember growing up I always played these games remembered here. The C64 was my first computer and was a great machine for playing games no matter how long they took to load. :-)

That one is most certainly to be considered videogame of the millennium (unless they release Emlyn Hughes 2 this year *s*)! Cool Site I hope I can find the info reguarding Legacy Of The Ancients. I'm looking for the Secret Code Wheel. I've been playing this game for years lost my access code wheel. Made maps of the museum & dungeons but could never figure out on how to finally finish this game I've been playing it since it came out.

The C64 was my first computer. Bought lots of games for it and D/Led other games from Q-Link. I'm really glad that someone cared enough to save most of the C64/128 games and other items. I guess I'm a C64 diehard. I surely miss the days of Q-Link and RJ casino.

Have two C64's (One spare)Purchased the first for $ 300.00 U.S. and the second at a garage sale for $25.00 (The spare) Favorate (mindless) game Dino Eggs. I am a retired Satellite Communications Engineer now. Wrote a program to plot the Mandelbrot Set with the C64. Start a plot in the evening and see the results for breakfast. Also a ham radio operator, KF6FPV.

Excellent 64 site. My friends and I still have one working 64. In order to load the games we have to stack many books on the tape recorder. Graphics have lept forward in recent years but the game play of the 64 stuff still rules.

By accident I found this site and was really surprised finding our game TROOZE in it. Great Site ! Just keep on with your work because the C 64 is definately worth the trouble !

I am a die hard C64/C128 fan since 1986. I owe a lot to them. I really had fun and learned a lot with them. Since my C128 has long been broken, I am now searching the internet for PC emulators and all the software that I had and did not had. I am still having lots of fun!!!

Way back when.... My (then) Brother in law was chief of engineering with IBM. He advised me that the C64 was the best computer on the market. Wish I had it back....Thanx for the site!

It was just today that I decided to look if I would find some C64 emulator on the web. I found a good one, then I found some games, and then...the "old" feeling came back again: Paradroid, Maniac Mansion, Little Computer People - it's been almost six years that I played my last C64 game! Now there's a whole bunch of games to be found and played again. I fear this whole matter is gonna keep me away from real work the next let's say five or six months. I swear, if there will ever be a good Amiga Emulator, my head will explode instantly!!! Hail to the good old days, when men were REAL men and games were REAL games!

Downloaded some emulator games - this is a very good link I have used a C64/128 since 1982 - there are just some things a Commodore does better than any other and I'll probably never part with it. I've been sucessful in transfering GEOS to the emulator and using 2 drives - it acutally works better than on a real 64. Thanks for your site - have enjoyed!!

Howdy all you C64 fans. This is the same Mike Blackman who wrote some of the C64 games listed in here.. but that was about 15 years ago, when I was only 15, so go easy on me. Ape Craze? Escape MCP? Pegasys Odyssey?? Some of my personal favorites. Good to see the C64 has not died! But wow, try to write a graphics game on a VIC-20 when you only have 3.5K of RAM! What a load of old crap theese p.c`s are.They dont even come close to rivalling the C64.The payability of the games,the passion in the music written by such people as rob hubbard and martin gallway. Does anyone remember Benn and Ratt,Fairlight,Triad, Bencor Brothers and many many more groups who brought us much pleasure with theircracks. Long live the C64 :-)

I got a C64 (and floppy drive and tape drive) when I was 13 (1983) and it got me into computers... 4 years later I got my drivers license and sold all of the above so I could get a car stereo (Du'oh!)... The C64 was much more fun than the (crappy) IBM PC & clones of the day...

I have just found my C64 with moniter model 1702, single floppy 1541 and printer. I also have the tape recorder somewhere. The games i had where left in the attic for 8 years!!!! So i am looking for copies to replace them. I have over 15 manuales to games that i no longer have. I hooked up my machine and turned it on but i am not sure if it works anymore. If anyone can help please e-mail me!!!

First of all, I'd like to say this page is the best for C64!!! I was searching for Castle of Terror for a long long time and I found it here!!! Second I think it's great that you add pictures AND sounds and all the extra info such as publishing houses etc.!!! Please keep it up!! BUT...... I have got one BIG question for you : I have got a copy of a C64 game called "Spirit of the Stones". I looked it up at this page and found it. Back in the 80's I completed the game and got this riddle, which is, to this day, a big mystery to me. The goal of the game was to get all the diamonds, thus revealing a riddle('13 runes the key do make, one for every patternbreak'), which you needed to find out the real whereabouts of 40 talismen, HIDDEN ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT IN 1983; so there were really 40 talismen hidden back in 1983 and with the game and an included book you had to crack the code and search for the talismen. You could do this by actually travelling to the Isle of Wight(travel agency forms were included in the pack) or you could send in an entryform on which you could write the whereabouts of the talismen and you had to send this in. Well, every game sold brought in 50p(?) on a special bank account. This was for special care for the invironment of the Isle of Wight and for every talisman you found, you would also get a share of this pot. The game would last untill 1)all the talismen were found 2)the bankaccount reached 100.000 pounds(?) or 3)the game was not solved in 1993. Now my question is this: Do you know the solution to solve the Spirit of the Stones???? I got my copy in 1989 and am dying to find out! I haven't heard anything about it and the only information I could find is this page. Do you know what happened to the game?? Well, so far for my question. I am presently playing an old game called Dungeons BA..does anyone remember playing that one? It's ancient but challenging. I've made it to Swordsman Rank but how do you get to that final section through the 4 flashing barriers? Seems to be impossible to get past that 4th one?

Great site! I have three C64's that I wore out. I programed them alot. I've repaired, baby, and curse them fianlly I gave up. Couldn't find parts. I boxed everything up and got a PC. I liked the 64 a 1000% better. The 64 was a joy to program even in ML. Then I went to the world of DOS, Qbasic, and Windows. PC's have some great aplication if your willing to PAY BIG for them. Then one day at an auction there it was. A C64 with monitor, drive and printer. I walked away with them for 3$ I figure PARTS, but to my surprise they all worked. So now I'm back. I've bookmarked this site and plan to come back again and again and.... Keep up the good work!

I was here to find C64 !

I was checking out your site on the C-64 and wanted to fill in some info for you. Legacy of the Ancients is one of my most favorite games on the C-64 and I still have the original packaging and docs.  It was published by EA,programming by Chuck and John Dougherty, graphics by Dan Stechow, Roseann Miller, and Ron Kelly Vanlent,nd by Johnny Klonaris. In addition to this game John and Charles Dougherty put out another game - sequal called The Legend of Blacksilver.  It was Produced in 1988, published by EPYX, with copyright to Quest Software.  I don't have the rest of the info as it is nowhere on the box or in the book.  I'm playing it now and when i see the credits next I will fill you in.  The graphics are identical as well as gameplay.  Just by looking at screenshots you could not tell the difference.  Since I do not have a scanner, or cables and programs to connect my C-64 with my PC, I do happen to have a second copy I could sell to you. It would include the original box, disks(2), book, and all docs(including a map).  Please Email me to let me know if you are interested.  I will be unavailable for the month of July, but will return in August. The Email address did not work for me.

These pages are GREAT! I owned a C64 for 8 years (I appreciated it and took care of it) I wrote games and demos in assembly for the C64 but finally I gave it away. Now I am a collector of emul8trs (all kind) and I am having a good time playing all those FANTASTIC games of this OLD C64 like Hawkeye (this one costs many hours of my sparetime) So it is NOT 3D not even 3DFx it is NOT mimapped/1000polygoned/raytraced shit like all games nowadays. got a c64 for xmas in 1984, superb entertainment. we bought every ea game that was released. racing destruction set, adventure const. set, mail order monsters pinball constr set, i could go on and on, by the far the greatest was Ultima IV.

Colossus chess 4.0 + Donkey Kong made me smash two C64 machines. Should I go to hell, OK I will understand. (but I bought my third in 1997!!)

Hello, this is a fantastic site!...I'm a really big fan of the C64 - I still own 2 and I've kept boxfulls of games...Honestly its good to see that so many people want to keep the legend alive. I think my favourite game of all on the c64 has to be that Dan Dare adventure one by virgin - that was brilliant. But I can't find an emulated version of it on the net - could someone please point me in the right direction? - By the way, to the guy who wrote agent x 2 - the game was crap but the music was excellent! did you do that too? cheers!

I´m a great Fan of the old C 64-Games. I like especially the Games "Heart of Africa", "Law of the west", "Pirates" and "Giannas sisters" The problem is: I haven´t got a C 64 anymore and so I can´t play my favourite games. I´m looking now for somebody, who can Help me in this ways: -Sell me a new C 64 and floppy 1541; -or tell me, how I can play them on Internet -or copy it on a 386 PC. The C64 games are still legendary in my mind. Say does anyone know how to get all the way through the Activision classic "Thermonuclear Wargames" ? I have been stuck for about 12 years. If anyone has the solutions I would love to hear from you so I can fire the old beast up again.

CBM 64 -CBM64 ruled the eighties. My self was in the amiga scene with a demogroup; EXIT,a group who brought you the first REAL 3D demo called QUO VADIS. Excellent site, and the memories are flying higher than a kite could imagine! I ran the (Elite Den of the Krack) for years, groups (WDE), (SSI), with the help of Memory CHIP on the Slap ons and gues what (Sprites in the borders) How did we do that????? Well its been real and if any one wants to contact me in regards to the good old days, you know where ill be!:)

Thanks for putting some of my tunes up here! I used to love working on the 64 - you didn't need anything else but the computer itself to make the tunes. Now we games musicians have to have complete recording studios, catering for voice over and Christ knows what. Check out my company's web site to see what I mean!

Interesting to see this huge amount of funny and exiting games written by gamers for gamers. Has been a really cool time around the 80's and the good old C=64. No other computer ever managed to recieve such a faithful fan group. Still remembering all those copy parties, getting the new stuff as soon as possilble, cool coding experiences, interesting people, shitty PC's with monochromatic displays. Great site dude, keep up the good work. I'm sure that most people who today own a Pc, or an Apple, started off their computing with the trusty C=64. It's also nice to see that in this age of "Big brother" Microsoft, some people still remember what a great computer the C=64 was.

I regretabally sold my c128/64 a few years back but suffered intense withdrawal symptoms and purchased another for $75 (NZ). Unfortunatley I lack my favorite game of all time - Pirates! and Creatures 2! Those were certainly the days!

The C64 is King of Home Computers. I sold mine in '91 and I regret it to this day! I miss the hours of mesmerizing fun I had playing "Trolls and Tribulations!" I see a lot of C64's at flea markets, but never with the disk drive! Someday I'm gonna buy one and revisit my youth.

I have 5 C-64's and 4 1541's and a bunch of other stuff. (Vic -20), tape drive and a couple of printers. SAM the speech system was the greatest. I couldn't get enough of SAM delivering the Gettysburg Address. I got my first C-64 in 1985 and played endless hours of Loderunner with my son now 17. He got me Loderunner for the PC for Fathers Day this June. This visit to your page makes me want to set the Commodore up again. I have hundreds of games, many purchsased and lots typed in from the magazines Gazette and Run. Also several years of both mags. Keep up the good work and save the c-64.

Anyone got MIDI's or SIDs of Karateka or Defender of the Crown?

I wrote my first program on a Vic-20, wrote my first game on a C64, wrote my first Application on an Amiga, and now programming on the PC....Now I have two C64s, I love the games---Brings me back to the age of 8 all over again!

I got my C64 in 1983, and sold it to my cousin in 1989. I am about to buy it back, because I can no longer live witrhout it !!!! MEMORIES !!!!

Did anyone remember Classic Concentration for the 64?I used to play on that thing for hours. Iwould wear a top hat because that was the style back then, it helped me win.I would have to clean my room sometimes when it got messed up. I had a commodore 64 when i was little, ever since i was 2 to be exact. Ya know, everyone was a baby sometime, sure mabye not yesterday but some people were born in 1980, some were born in '84 (like me), but is really going any where?I didnt think so either. I use to wear a top hat when i was a kid, it was the style back then.

There is no Game on the PC, that I want to play as much as these 'old' Games on the C64. Do you know Little Computer People ? LCP is the original of the Tamagotschi !

good old C64! comp I have now is like 133 times faster than my C64 was but I liked those games better. New games are only graphics... that's why I installed C64 emulator, and ym looking for a download spot for Last Ninja 2 and free any info would be cool... keep the spirit alive!
